Director: Jerry Jensen

SYNOPSIS

The Dining Room is a fascinating play by A.R.Gurney. It is a drama and a comedy, set in the dining room of a typical well-to-do household, where the family assembles daily for their breakfasts, dinners or any other special occasions. The action is a mosaic of interrelated scenes—some funny, some touching,—which create an in-depth portrait of a middle class household.
Each vignette focuses on a different family during different time periods when they use the same dining room set. The actors change roles, personalities and ages to portray a variety of characters, from little boys to stern grandfathers, and giggling teenage girls to Irish housemaids.

Overall, it is a story of the short-lived and dying culture of upper-middle class Americans, and the transition to a much more efficient society with less emphasis on tradition and more emphasis on progress. Some characters are made fun of, as is the culture itself, but there is also a genuine longing for the sense of stability, comfort and togetherness. The different scenes sometimes overlap and sometimes coalesce smoothly together. Each cast member plays 9 or 10 roles.

SYNOPSIS

A Few Good Men is a thrilling courtroom drama written by Aaron Sorkin, who wrote the play when he was in his late 20's and has since gone on to be a prolific screenwriter for both television and film. His biggest hit series was "The West Wing" and recently he wrote the screenplay for "Charlie Willson's War" starring Tom Hanks.

A Few Good Men tells the story of an inexperienced but cocky Navy Lawyer, Lt. Kaffee, who is assigned the case defending two marines who are charged with the murder of a fellow marine in their unit. He has much to live up to, as his now deceased father was a former Attorney General and Naval Judge Advocate General.

Lt.Kaffee is joined in defense of the young soldiers by LCDR JoAnn Galloway. (there is instant friction between her and Kaffee) and Lt. Weinberg (who isn't crazy about his clients and isn't afraid to share his disdain with Kaffee).

The real tension starts when Kaffee comes up against Col. Nathan Jessup, a powerful senior Marine Officer at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba, where much of the action of the play takes place. In fact, the action shifts from Washington D.C. to Guantanamo throughout the play in lightning fast fashion that is certain to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
